Thoughts from the Servant of God, Bishop Alphonse Gallegos, OAR PDF Print E-mail

“We are truly aware that all men are called to holiness in the one Christ. But each is called according to his own name, his unique personality, his irreplaceable task and existence in the Church. The mystery of religious vocation lies in its being a personal call from Christ to live the Christian life in a special way and in the sight of all the brethren. The consecrated religious calls all the people not to religious life, but to the genuine living of Christian values. We as religious must shine out in the Church by visibly showing in relevant and appealing forms the Gospel truths which all must live by in perhaps less visible forms. It is through these vows which we have professed that will allow us to reach the people of God as a genuine witness of Christ Himself.”
