40 Days for Life
On March 1st at 12pm, Bishop Kevin Vann, Ordinary of the Diocese of Orange, presided at the Holy Eucharist at Our Lady of the Pillar to pray for the dignity of human life and the protection of the unborn. This Mass was organized by the Diocese of Orange and marked the beginning of the annual prayers for human life during the 40 days of Lent.
In his homily, the bishop invited the faithful to pray for the end of abortion, in particular during the 40 days of Lent. He encouraged those present to go out into the abortion clinics and pray peacefully for the protection of the unborn. The silent witness of the faithful in those abortion clinics is a powerful witness of our faith and a constant reminder that life is to be protected.
After the Holy Eucharist, the bishop spent a few moments with the faithful taking pictures and preceded to the parish rectory for lunch.
